Little Millet (Samai)Vaer
The Little Millet (samai) is believed to have originated in India. It is grown and used for food almost exclusively in our country. It belongs to the group of small millets (other members being Proso, Kodo, Barnyard and Finger millets), which are said to be nutritionally superior to rice and wheat.
Little Millet or Samai contains slow digesting carbohydrates that help you feel full for a longer time. This makes it an excellent alternative to your white rice. However, Samai is a versatile grain that can be used to make everything from Rotis to Idli batter. Our Samai is nutritious as it is par-boiled and unpolished.
